RAD DANCE STUDIO is the loving home to a community of compassionate instructors who guide youth to learn, explore, and create through dance without judgement. Walking through our doors to a place where you will always be warmly welcomed.

Unplug From Technology

Less virtual, more real. It’s getting harder to help kids disconnect from technology and connect in real live experiences. RAD helps kids embody and express themselves without feeling the need to be someone they see online. They get to stretch, build up their strength, and new physical skills through dance.

Make Life-Long Friends

Less judgement, more encouragement. Sometimes the pressures or dynamics at school or home can prevent a kid from feeling understood or comfortable fully expressing themselves. RAD provides a safe-haven to foster authentic friendships with those who want to build you up, not tear you down.

Decompress the Mind

Less shallow, more mindful. Instead of mindlessly texting, scrolling, and “LOLing” online to relieve stress, we help youth connect with their creativity and friends to destress. Dance is great for the mind, body, and soul. We help youth process feelings and build self-esteem.

Dance lessons are life lessons. Our values are what drives our staff and studio. We stand for each of our students in embodying the RAD VALUES through their training in dance as individuals, groups, and teamwork.

We help build our students sense of pride and confidence to become the best versions of themselves. Creating a deep sense of inner self-worth gives students something no-one can ever take away from them, making them resilient during challenges and kind to themselves.

RESPECT

We teach mutual respect, reminding students how we treat others is how we are treated. In life you get what you give. So we encourage everyone to give each other positive experiences. If individuals have self-worth and mutual respect, healthier relationships are created.

    Retter’s is more than a Dance Studio, it is home. I've trained with Darryl & Linda Retter since I moved to L.A. over 25 years ago. Now, my children are fortunate enough to call RAD their Dancing home! As far as I'm concerned, there's no better place for my children to learn to be great dancers, but, more importantly, great humans than under this amazing Faculty & Staff. I am beyond excited and so honored to step into the role of Owner and Artistic Director of Retters Academy of Dance. I can’t speak highly enough about what Linda and Darryl have created— a wonderful dance community filled with love, passion, and inspiration. They are leaving a tremendous legacy behind as they move onto the next chapter of their lives. As I step into this new role, my goal is to continue the Retter values and vision. I strive to motivate, encourage, challenge and inspire each and every one of your children— they are the future!
