OliviA Gerns

Miss Olivia has been part of the RAD family since she began her formal dance training at age 5 in the RAD Starlet program. She continued through Retter’s as a Rhythm Machine Company Dancer, an Assistant/Demonstrator, a performer and songwriter for MusicWorks Unlimited, and as the 2012-2013 Al Gilbert Memorial Scholarship Winner, placing 1st Runner Up at DanceMakers Regionals. Now, Olivia continues her journey at RAD on faculty as Tap Instructor and Rhythm Machine Adjudicator for the past 8 years.

Aside from her life as a dancer, Miss Olivia is also an accomplished musician. She attended Chapman University on Scholarship as a Music Major, pursuing degrees in both Music Education and Oboe/English Horn Performance, graduating Cum Laude. During her studies at Chapman, she performed multiple times as a soloist with The Chapman Orchestra, and gave numerous chamber and solo recitals. Now at age 26, Olivia has been able to pursue a multifaceted career in the arts post-grad, by serving as a Piano Instructor at Guitar Center, writing songs for MusicWorks and streaming her music online, debuting her first album “Innocence,” cultivating her own studio of private Oboe and Piano students, and continuing her dance training by taking classes with tap dance professionals and attending tap intensives. Miss Olivia is also a published author, writing articles on Mental Health subjects. Olivia Gerns is so proud, excited, and grateful to be back at RAD for the 32nd Anniversary 2022-2023 Dance Season!
